With a decision made on the 21st of March 2009, the Financial Supervisory Authority (FME) assumed the power of a shareholders‘ meeting of Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf.
On the 27th of March 2009 FME appointed a Resolution Committee for Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf. The Resolution Committee has now three members:
Erling Tómasson, Chairman, Certified Public Accountant.
Hjördís Edda Harðardóttir, Supreme Court Attorney.
Jón Ármann Guðjónsson, District Court Attorney.
On the 23rd of March 2009 the District Court of Reykjavik granted Sparisjóðabank Íslands hf., Rauðarárstígur 7, 105 Reykjavík, a license of financial reorganisation.
Tómas Jónsson, Supreme Court Attorney, is an assistance during the financial reorganisation. With reference to Article 13 of the Act on Bankruptcy no. 21/1991, creditors of Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf. are called to a meeting which will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday 9 June 2009 at the headquarters of Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf., Rauðarárstíg 27, 105 Reykjavík.
Right to attend the meeting are those who have claims against Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf.
The licence of financial reorganisation has been granted until Monday 15 June 2009 at 13:15, when the case will be heard anew in the Courthouse by Lækjartorg in Reykjavík.
On 20 May 2009 the District Court of Reykjavik appointed a Winding-Up Committee
of Sparisjóðabanki Íslands hf. The members of the Winding-Up Committee are: Andri Árnason Supreme Court Attorney, Berglind Svavarsdóttir Supreme Court Attorney and Tómas Jónsson Supreme Court Attorney and assistance during the financial reorganization (moratorium) of the bank.
